With the recent suicide of Jamey Rodemeyer, light has once again been shed upon the need to resolve lgbt suicide. A necessity of our progress towards ending teen suicide, GLAAD’s work to improve the media presence of the lgbt community, is not just powerful but is unmatched in its fervor for change. As an athlete whose community seems like a final battleground for achieving acceptance, I recognize the unparalleled impact GLAAD has on youth involvement in sports.
